District Partnership Overview
What does an outcomes-based partnership look like?
Turning shared goals into measurable student growth
Inspired by the work of the Southern Education Foundation’s Center for Outcomes-Based Contracting and the National Student Support Accelerator, BookNook is helping districts bring accountability and impact to high-dosage tutoring.
At BookNook, we believe tutoring should be centered around what matters most: students. Outcomes-Based Partnerships align everyone (districts, providers, and students) around shared clear and measurable goals.

How does it work?
Define the Goal
We collaborate with your team to select measurable and achievable outcomes, based on past growth in your existing assessments.
Build the Program
We design a tutoring program that supports these goals that fits your school schedule.
Deliver, Monitor, & Adjust
Throughout the program, we share data, dashboards, and feedback so district teams can see progress in real time. We emphasize iterative reflection and adjustment, in line with the EDC’s continuous improvement cycles.
Measure and Reflect
At the end of the tutoring program, we review agreed-upon metrics and celebrate growth. If goals are met or exceeded, then outcomes-based payments are triggered, tying investment directly to what matters most - student impact.
At BookNook
We harness high-impact tutoring to accelerate learning, engage students, and foster personal growth, providing a comprehensive support system.

What makes it work?
When the success of a tutoring initiative is tied to student outcomes, districts gain confidence in their investment, and most importantly, student success is the center of the partnership. As SEF explains, “This approach compels mutual accountability between school districts and providers for achieving outcomes.”
This emphasis on the importance of models that build trust, accountability, and transparency as cornerstones for student learning initiatives is growing within the education industry from organizations like Aurora Institute and Accelerate.us.
When tutoring success is tied to outcomes, districts gain confidence in their investment and students gain real, measurable growth.
“OBCs seek to align vendor incentives with district objectives and create shared accountability for results.”
